Education & Work Experience

In 2011, Ashley graduated from U.C. Davis with a B.S. degree in Neurobiology, Physiology and Behavior; During her undergraduate years, she supported individuals with developmental disabilities and was a trained Emergency Medical Technician (E.M.T.). After graduation, she worked in the eye/tissue/organ donation field, where she procured life-enhancing human tissues for transplant and research and assisted in the organ donation process.

In 2020, Ashley graduated from Pacific University with her Master of Social Work (MSW) degree. During her time at Pacific, she interned at Volunteers of America, where she provided one-on-one counseling and led mindfulness and cognitive skills groups for clients with a history of substance use disorders, who were transitioning into society post-incarceration. She also interned with a Social Work lobbyist, where she developed a community-oriented perspective for the process of creating and implementing long-standing and effective local and state policies and legislation.

Currently Ashley is and has been involved in various community leadership roles: 2020 National Delegate, National Committee Person for the YDO Caucus, Member of the National Association of Social Workers Legislative Committee (Passed the CAHOOTS Expansion bill) and Political Action Committee, Precinct Committee Person for Lane County and she has served on a Lane County Committee.

In addition to the listed volunteer positions, Ashley works as the Campaign Coordinator for Clean Slate Oregon, a grassroots campaign to reform and automate Oregon’s antiquated conviction expungement process.
